To get a library card, you will need to show proof of identification and proof of your address, such as a utility bill.  If you live outside the city limits of Mullan, you will be charged a non-resident fee of $25, which will cover your whole family.  The Idaho State Library Board has indicated that libraries must charge residents who live in an untaxed library area an equitable amount to what the city taxpayers are charged.  Otherwise, the library will not be eligible for any grants from the State.

Checkout periods for books and books on tape are 4 weeks with one renewal, if the items are not on hold by another patron.  Checkout periods for DVDs, VHS tapes, and music CDs are 7 days with one renewal, if the items are not on hold. Reference materials may only be used in the library and are not available for check-out.

Fines on overdue books and books on tape are 10 cents per day.  Fines on DVDs. VHS tapes, and Music CDs are $1.00 per day.  Damaged and lost items are charged accordingly.

The Mullan Library offers Internet Access to patrons.  Internet use is available by signing up for 30 minute increments — first-come, first-served.  Five desktop computers and 5 laptops are available for patron use. Patrons must be at least 18 years of age to use a laptop.   Patrons must have a library card from any of the CIN libraries and a signed internet agreement with the Mullan Library before they can use a computer.  Minors must sign the agreement with their parent(s) or guardian(s).

Although the Mullan Library has a filtering system in place, note that the librarians do not monitor and have no control over the information accessed through the Internet, and can not be held responsible for its content. The Mullan Library is not responsible for monitoring or supervising any child’s use of the Internet.  Activities that are illegal or designed to disrupt or interfere with services or equipment will result in suspension from the library or legal action.  Failure to follow any of the posted computer rules may result in the loss of computer privileges.

Wireless access is available during library hours only.

Black and white copies can be made (printer and copier) for 10 cents a copy.
