WHAT ARE THE FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY UP TO THESE DAYS?
The Friends have begun planning for the annual Fireman’s Fest and will be selling burgers for their fundraiser! Proceeds directly benefit the library and are used to add to the book/DVD/audio collections.
EXACTLY WHO ARE THE FRIENDS OF THE MULLAN PUBLIC LIBRARY?
The Friends of the Mullan Library is an organization established to help the library meet important needs and emergency expenses. The Friends can legally solicit and accept donations and grants of money to help the Mullan Library cover expenditures that are not addressed in the Library’s budget. A few examples are blinds for the windows, additional shelving, computer replacement, and computer maintenance. Some of the important fundraisers that are sponsored by the Friends include the Halloween Carnival; two Book Soup & Pie fundraisers held in spring and fall; the Hamburger/Hotdog booth at the Summer Firemen’s Fun Festival; and the Birthday Calendar Project that covers the annual CIN fee, which is a substantial expense.
If you would like to join the Friends or come to the next meeting, please call a librarian at 744-1220. The current president of the Friends and primary contact is Valerie Douglas.
OUR VOLUNTEERS ARE AWESOME!
We are so fortunate to have many wonderful volunteers at the Mullan Library! The Library Board of Trustees and staff recognize the effort from these dedicated helpers and thank them for all that they do! Here are just a few of our library angels:

We are often asked about the shelving in the Adult Fiction Room. This beautiful work was done by our friend and library volunteer GARY AZEVEDO several years ago. He also constructed the Idaho History collection bookcase and memorial to Mrs. Evelyn Smith, in the Reading Room, and made many other improvements to the library. We will always appreciate Gary’s time and workmanship, and his creative touch will always be seen and appreciated throughout our beautiful library. We miss him….
